About Me
I’m the author of This Childhood of Mine: A Memoir of My Last Summer with My Mentally Ill Mother and Alcoholic Father.
I’m also a teacher and have been teaching all my adult life. At the age of twenty-two, I opened a dance school, and after traveling the world with my students, I fell in love with English language, became an English-as-a-foreign-language teacher, and immigrated to the US.
Now I reside in Maryland and am getting my master’s degree in Elementary Education at Walden University while doing internship at a local school. I enjoy people and socializing. In my free time, I like to walk in botanical gardens while listening to audiobooks. When at home, I like to cook, drink black tea, and eat chocolates.
I’m blessed with wonderful daughter Amina, husband Timothy, and two feisty Chihuahuas Vincent and Dominic.
